FAQ

Common questions about working with HaveSight

HaveSight designs and builds websites, business applications, and AI and automation around how your business runs: Launch, then Care. These answers cover fit, ownership, Care, and AI safety in plain language. If you already know the pain, such as a spreadsheet, inbox, or customer journey that is breaking, you can also start a conversation.

Good fit / Not a fit

We describe fit by situation, not by company size or ZIP code. The question is whether the work you need is the kind of work we do well. If it is not, we would rather point you somewhere better than take on a project that does not suit you.

A good fit

  • Your operations have outgrown spreadsheets and the inbox. You need a system shaped to how your team actually works, not another workaround.
  • You want a public website that connects to the work. The site should feed intake, customer records, commerce, learning, or delivery, not just sit there as a brochure.
  • You are open to practical AI on real jobs. You want AI to help with specific tasks, with a person still reviewing the output on anything that matters.
  • You are comfortable launching in phases. You would rather start with one website or workflow, get it working, and keep it maintained under a defined Care plan.

Probably not us

  • You only need a brochure site to get online. A template or a marketing-focused shop may fit better. We can build public websites, but websites connected to how the business runs are where we lead.
  • You want SEO retainers, ad management, or social calendars as the product. We are not a marketing agency, and a marketing partner will serve you better.
  • You want a vendor to own the stack for you indefinitely. We do not work that way. You own the code, the data, and the accounts.
  • You want a chatbot as the product. We are not a chatbot shop. We use AI where it helps a real task.
  • You need a standard Jobber, ServiceTitan, or HubSpot setup with no custom workflow. Buy the tool. It will likely serve you well, and faster. We help when the workflow itself is what makes your business different.

Not sure which side you are on? That is a normal place to be. Tell us what is breaking and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Are you a marketing agency?

No. HaveSight designs and builds websites, business applications, and AI and automation that help your business run: customer experience, operations, and practical intelligence. We are not a marketing agency, an SEO retainer shop, or an ad manager. If you need ongoing campaign creative and media buying, a marketing partner is the better fit. If you need the digital system behind the work, talk to us.

Who owns the code, data, and accounts?

You do. Clients own their application code (as agreed in the project), their data, and their third-party accounts, such as domains, hosting, payment, and software subscriptions. HaveSight is not a “website as a service” arrangement where the vendor keeps the keys and you rent your own system back.

After launch, Care is optional maintenance and agreed updates under a written plan. It is not ownership of your business system. If you ever decide to work with someone else, your code, data, and accounts go with you.

What is Care (and what isn't)?

After launch, monthly Care provides the maintenance and agreed updates defined for your solution. Your plan sets out three things in writing:

  • The monthly fee.
  • The included services. For example, monitoring as defined in your plan, agreed content, feature, or workflow updates within set limits, and security and dependency maintenance as scoped.
  • The limits. What the plan covers each month, and what it does not.

Work beyond the plan is quoted and approved separately before we start.

What Care is not:

  • Not unlimited changes. Every plan has limits, and they are written down.
  • Not hosting lock-in. Your accounts stay in your name. Care maintains your system; it does not hold it.
  • Not a substitute for a new project. When you want a major new capability, such as a new application module, a new connection between systems, or a new AI workflow, we scope and quote it as its own piece of work.

AI, data safety, and human review

How do you use AI?

On real jobs inside your website, your business applications, or the tools you already use. For example, drafting estimates, preparing inquiry follow-ups, or answering questions from approved business information. We design review steps into the work so your team stays in control of important decisions.

Is our data used to train public models?

We use AI against information you approve for the job. We do not treat your private business data as content for public model training.

Who owns AI outputs and business data?

Your business data remains yours. Outputs produced in your systems are handled under your ownership and the project agreement, the same as the rest of the work we build for you.

When is AI the wrong answer?

When a spreadsheet, a clearer handoff, or a simple automation is enough. If a task happens rarely, changes every time, or depends mostly on judgment, AI can cost more than it saves. We will say so. We are not selling a chatbot as the product.

Do people review AI-assisted work?

Yes, anywhere the output touches money, customers, or commitments. For estimating and pricing, the numbers are reviewed by a person before they go to a customer. That is how the estimating system we built for Kitchen Creations works: AI helps prepare the estimate, and the estimator still owns the price.

Working with us

Can we start with one website or workflow?

Yes. Most projects start with one website, one workflow, or one part of the operation. We launch in manageable phases and expand only when the first piece is working.

Can you work with tools we already use?

Often, yes. We assess your integrations first; what is possible depends on the tools, the access they allow, and the scope. We will tell you what is practical before we commit to an approach.

Do you only work in Wilmington?

No. HaveSight is based in Wilmington, North Carolina, and we work with businesses nationwide.

What happens after launch?

Your solution moves into monthly Care. The plan sets out the fee, the included services, and the limits. Anything beyond that is quoted and approved separately. See What is Care above.

Where to go next

All questions

Who is HaveSight a good fit for?
Businesses whose operations have outgrown spreadsheets and the inbox, or whose website needs to connect to intake, customer records, commerce, learning, or delivery. It also fits teams open to practical AI on real jobs with a person reviewing the output. Fit is about your situation, not your company size.
Who is probably not a fit?
If you only need a brochure site, a template or marketing-focused shop may fit better. If you want SEO retainers, ad management, a chatbot as the product, or a standard software install with no custom workflow, another partner or an off-the-shelf tool will likely serve you better. We will tell you honestly.
Are you a marketing agency?
No. We design and build websites, business applications, and AI and automation that help your business run. We do not sell SEO retainers, manage ads, or run social calendars.
Who owns the code, data, and accounts?
You do. Clients own their application code (as agreed in the project), their data, and their third-party accounts. HaveSight does not keep the keys to your system.
What does Care include — and what are the limits?
Care provides the maintenance and agreed updates defined for your solution after launch. Your plan states the monthly fee, the included services, and the limits in writing. Work beyond the plan is quoted and approved separately.
Is Care the same as website-as-a-service lock-in?
No. Care is optional maintenance under a written plan, and your code, data, and accounts stay yours. It is not unlimited changes, not hosting lock-in, and not ownership of your business system.
How do you use AI in client work?
On specific tasks inside your website, business applications, or the tools you already use, such as drafting estimates, preparing inquiry follow-ups, or answering from approved business information. We build in review steps so your team stays in control. We use AI against information you approve for the job and do not treat your private business data as content for public model training.
Do humans review AI-assisted estimates?
Yes. For estimating and pricing, a person reviews the numbers before they go to a customer. That is how the estimating system we built for Kitchen Creations works.
When should we skip AI and keep a simpler process?
When a spreadsheet, a clearer handoff, a checklist, or a simple automation is enough. If a task happens rarely, changes every time, or depends mostly on judgment, AI may not be worth it. We will say so.
Can we start with one workflow or one website?
Yes. Starting with one website or one workflow is the usual path. We launch in phases and expand when the first piece has earned its place.
Can you work with tools we already use?
Often, yes. We assess integrations first; what is possible depends on the tools, the access they allow, and the scope. We will tell you what is practical before we start.
Do you only serve Wilmington businesses?
No. HaveSight is based in Wilmington, North Carolina, and we work with businesses nationwide.
What happens after launch?
Your solution moves into monthly Care, with a plan that sets out the fee, the included services, and the limits. Anything beyond the plan is quoted and approved separately.
How is this different from buying Jobber, ServiceTitan, or HubSpot?
If a standard tool fits how you work, buy it. We build when the workflow itself is what makes your business different, or when the tools you have do not connect the way your team needs. See custom business applications for how we think about that choice.
