Case study
Rising Tide Plumbing: a connected training platform for courses, learners, and team licenses
HaveSight designed and built Rising Tide Plumbing's training platform: a connected platform, not just a course website. It is one system that links the public site, course sales, secure learner accounts, business licensing, customer management, and owner operations. Rising Tide is based in Wilmington, NC and serves learners and companies nationwide. Businesses buy seats and assign them to their people, and license expirations trigger automated notices. The owner publishes new material without a developer.

The challenge
Rising Tide's owner, an experienced plumber and educator, wanted to turn his expertise into programs people could buy, for DIYers and apprentices, and to sell licensed team training directly to supply houses, contractors, and apprenticeship programs.
That takes more than a storefront. Accounts, paid access, licenses, renewals, and customer records all have to work together. It needed a connected platform.
What we built
The public front door
The brand experience, program navigation, class and course listings, and sign-in and purchase entry points. See websites and customer experiences.
Commerce and paid access
Individual classes, full courses, and bundled programs, each with its own path to purchase and access, with checkout, paid access, and purchase records.
Learner accounts
Secure accounts with paid access, video progress that picks up where the learner left off, and program-only content.
Business licensing (B2B seats)
Companies buy licensed access and assign seats to their people from a private team dashboard. Their learners complete quizzes with passing requirements, and license terms are tracked from end to end.
Customer management and email
Customer and company relationships live in one place, with transactional email delivery and built-in unsubscribe and suppression handling.
The owner workspace
The video library, classes, courses, bundles, quizzes, business accounts, purchases, and customer records in one workspace, with new material published without a developer. See custom business applications for what a workspace like this can include.
One connected platform
- Public experience
- Customer and business accounts
- Commerce
- Learning and training
- Customer management
- Owner operations
How it works day to day
- A DIY learner or apprentice browses the catalog, buys a class or course, signs in, and picks up where they left off.
- A supply house or contractor requests team licensing. The license is issued against its business account, its admin invites employees, and learners complete quizzes with passing requirements.
- The owner manages the catalog, video library, pricing, and content from one workspace, and sees purchases and customer records.
- The system handles access, license terms, expirations, and the automated notices that go with them.
Where automation helps, and where it does not
Workflows around access, licensing, and renewals run inside the platform, including automated notices when licenses are coming up for expiration.
The automation sits inside the operating system of the business, working from structured information the business already keeps. It is not a chatbot added to a storefront. Decisions about the catalog, pricing, and content stay with the owner.
What changed
- Courses, learners, business licenses, and customer records live in one system instead of a storefront plus separate tools.
- Businesses can manage their own seats instead of going through the owner for every change.
- License terms and renewal notices run automatically, so licensing does not rely on the honor system.
- The owner publishes new material without a developer.
